The latest roundabout project is expected to be complete before the start of the school year. The detour route and signage will be in place.
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Starting this Monday, June 17, the intersection at Westen Street and Highland Way will be closed until the beginning of August for the City's roundabout project to be completed.
This will affect direct routes from Campbell Lane down Westen Street to Greenview Hospital and any other routes in this area.
As for the detour route, assuming a motorist is coming from Campbell Lane onto Westen, they will be detoured down to Smallhouse Road and down to Patrick Way in order to get back onto Westen Street.
There will be barricades placed leading up to the closed intersection on all four approaches that state either “local traffic only” or “closed to through traffic” which simply means that if you need to be within the area between that barricade and the closed intersection (if someone needs to access a business or residence) that they will still be able to do so.
