If you’ve been impacted by the recent flooding, find out how and where to get help—and why it’s critical to wait before filing with FEMA.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: April 16, 2025

BOWLING GREEN, KY – In response to the recent flooding disaster, the City of Bowling Green has established a Community Resource Center to assist residents in beginning the recovery process.

The center is located at Michael O. Buchanon Park, 9222 Nashville Road, and will operate Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding Good Friday. Residents impacted by the flooding are strongly encouraged to visit the center during these hours to receive in-person support and information about available resources.

City officials urge residents not to file claims with FEMA at this time. FEMA cannot provide financial assistance until a federal disaster declaration has been issued. Filing a claim before the declaration may delay or complicate the assistance process.

“The Community Resource Center is the first step in helping our neighbors begin their recovery,” said [Insert Official Name and Title]. “We know this is a difficult time, and we want to make sure everyone has access to the help they need.”

The City will continue to provide updates on the federal disaster declaration status. Residents are encouraged to monitor the City’s official social media channels and visit bgky.org for the most current information.
