BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Temporary shelter is now available for flood victims at Michael O. Buchanon Park, 9222 Nashville Road.
Anyone whose home has been affected by the flood can show up at the park's indoor gymnasium for temporary shelter, which is being overseen by the Warren County Parks and the Red Cross.
Dogs and cats that are controlled either by a leash or a crate are welcome at the shelter.
City Animal Protection Officers are available to provide transportation for pets for people who need assistance getting their pets to the shelter. Call 270-393-4000 if you need assistance getting your dog or cat to Buchanan Park to shelter with you.
Additionally, City staff will be out conducting rapid property assessments to determine disaster losses. If you see a City employee on your property, they will arrive in a marked City vehicle with government license plates, and the vehicles will be marked with a red "Damage Assessment" placard.
