Applications are now being accepted through February 21, 2025, for the next class of the City of Bowling Green's Over Fifty Citizen’s Academy. This engaging program offers a behind-the-scenes look at City government and community resources as part of the Age Friendly Bowling Green initiative.

Learn What Happens Behind the Scenes of City Government
This free, four-and-a-half-day academy runs from March 6-7, 2025, and March 10-12, 2025, and provides an in-depth exploration of the City of Bowling Green’s government operations, budgeting, and services. Participants will also learn about community resources, volunteer opportunities, and what it means to create an "Age Friendly" community.

The program is offered in partnership with AARP Kentucky and is designed to highlight livability and the role of older adults in shaping our community.

Schedule Highlights:
Each day begins at 8:30 AM with light refreshments and networking, and sessions start promptly at 9:00 AM, concluding by 4:00 PM. Lunch and snacks are provided. Graduation will take place on Wednesday, March 12, including a special lunch and recognition ceremony.
