Due to hazardous weather and below freezing temperatures forecasted for Jan. 15-17, warming centers will be available for people experiencing homelessness or without heat in their homes.

In anticipation of extreme cold temperatures entering our area, the Salvation Army, HOTEL, Inc., and Room in the Inn are partnering with three locations to offer warming centers for people experiencing homelessness or without heat in their homes. The warming centers will operate as follows:

• Monday, Jan. 15, 7 am-5 pm at State Street United Methodist Church, 1101 State St.
• Tuesday, Jan. 16, 7 am- 5 pm at The Capitol Theatre, 416 E. Main St.
• Wednesday, Jan. 17. 7 am-5 pm at Christ Episcopal Church, 1215 State St.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as will transportation to Room in the Inn and the Salvation Army for overnight shelter. 

Monetary donations can be made to Room in the Inn, HOTEL, Inc. or the Salvation Army at this link.
