Residents who purchased fireworks and observed the burn ban asked city officials for an alternative date to discharge fireworks resulting in tonight’s final vote to temporarily amend the fireworks ordinance.
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Bowling Green City Commissioners voted tonight to temporarily amend the city’s fireworks ordinance to allow for the lawful discharge of fireworks between the hours of noon to 11 p.m. Sept. 2 through Sept. 5, 2022.
Due to extremely dry weather conditions, city and county officials issued a burn ban June 27 that was lifted July 11, well after the July 4th holiday weekend during which time fireworks may normally be discharged in the city limits.
Residents who purchased fireworks and observed the burn ban asked city officials for an alternative date to discharge fireworks resulting in tonight’s final vote to temporarily amend the fireworks ordinance.
The City of Bowling Green would like to thank residents who complied with the burn ban.
