Board of Parks Commissioners
The Board of Parks is comprised of seven (7) community volunteers who serve three year terms on the board in an advisory role (does not have decision-making authority). The Board of Commissioners, who are appointed by the Parks and Recreation Director, are the liaison between the community and the Parks Department. Each member’s role is to support the Parks Department along with its employees to offer programs, leagues and events that best promote BGPR’s Mission, Vision and Values. Other Parks Divisions have a participating role in the meetings. They are as follows:
- Parks Maintenance
- Landscape Division
- Recreation Division
- Sports and Wellness Division
- Golf Course Division
- Cemetery Division
Meetings
Meetings are open to the public; and, held once a month on the second Monday of each month at 4 pm with the exception of July (no meeting). Meetings are scheduled at Bowling Green Parks & Recreation’s F.O. Moxley Community Center Building at 225 East Third Avenue in the Large Conference Room.

Member Qualifications
Board of Parks Commissioners qualifications to serve are the following (when there are vacancies interested parties will apply as a volunteer and a background check is performed):
- The person is a resident within the City limits of Bowling Green, KY.
- The person must be able to commit to attend monthly meetings each second Monday of the month at 4 pm.
- The person must be able to commit to serving on the Board for the three year term.
