Bowling Green Fire Chief named Chief of the Year

Congratulations to Bowling Green Fire Department Chief Justin Brooks who was named Chief of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs this morning.
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs named Bowling Green Fire Chief Justin Brooks as Chief of the Year during a ceremony Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green.
Brooks is a 17-year veteran of the department. He has served as BGFD chief for three years.
While receiving the award, Brooks said the honor was less about himself and more about about the men and women who serve with him.
"Justin is all about his people. He is a servant leader always looking out for the best interest of others," City Manager Jeff Meisel said.
Immediately after accepting the honor, Brooks received a standing ovation from other chiefs throughout the state.
