Code Description:
Illicit Connections. No person shall construct, use, or maintain any illicit connection to the MS4. This includes connections made in the past that were previously lawful. A violation occurs if any line conveying sewage, pollutants, or hazardous materials is connected to the MS4 or allowed to remain connected. The lift station for the property has failed again. The pump is inoperable and a plastic line was laid from the holding tank to the adjacent property in an apparent attempt to drain the tank. Potential seepage was noted on the slope. A licensed plumber must bring the system into compliance to eliminate any further illicit discharges by Friday, August 14 2026. This includes having a septic service pump out the tank on Monday, 3 August 2026, installing a bypass pump on Tuesday August 4 2026, leak testing the tank, and installing a new system (plumbing and electrical) to eliminate any further discharge by Friday, 14 August 2026. If any of the timelines above are not met, then additional enforcement actions will be taken, up to and including condemnation of the property as a danger to human and environmental health.
