The only signs allowed to be located in any publicly maintained right-of-way are those that are installed and maintained by the governmental unit or the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, WKU, etc., and through written agreement with the governmental unit. The primary focus of such signs will be for the safety of pedestrians and vehicular traffic. The governmental unit may also elect to install or allow the installation of signs for the purpose of community wayfinding, beautification, welcoming visitors and other public purposes. Any non-governmental unit signs placed on publicly maintained rights-of-ways will be removed and disposed of by a governmental unit and destroyed at their discretion. Advertising signs for the business at this location are being placed around the city in rights-of way on an ongoing basis. This business was fined for the same violations twice last year. Do not place signs off the premises of the business/in the right-of-way.
