Governor announces $223M investment in affordable housing with 635 units in Bowling Green and Warren County

This historic announcement for Bowling Green and Warren County is the culmination of collaborative efforts during the last couple of years with city staff, state agencies, tax-credit developers, and our elected officials.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Today Governor Beshear announced a total investment of $223 Million for 953 affordable rental housing units in Western Kentucky.  Of the 953 total affordable housing units, 635 will be built in Bowling Green and Warren County.  This historic announcement for Bowling Green and Warren County is the culmination of collaborative efforts during the last couple of years with city staff, state agencies, tax-credit developers, and our elected officials.  The City plans to leverage $1.5M of ARPA funds appropriated by the BOC for two of the five projects included in today’s announcement.

Totaling $130,963,821, the 635 units in Bowling Green and Warren County will be funded by a combination of tax-credits and bonds, CDBG-DR, and HOME funds.
