K-9 Unit
The K-9 unit supports the patrol function and are used to locate illegal drugs and apprehend offenders. The unit is comprised of two highly trained German shepherds which were purchased with the help of the Warren County Drug Task Force.The canine unit continues to be an integral part of the patrol division and support the daily operations for the officers.Officer Ernie Steff and Officer Erik Woodward are the canine handlers for the department. Officer Steff's partner is Belumi (pictured above right). Belumi is certified in patrol and drug enforcement activities. Officer Woodward's partner is Danny (pictured left). Danny is also certified in patrol and drug enforcement activities. Both teams support the patrol function throughout the city and other agencies as needed.
