Community Field Day

Summary: Parker-Bennett Community Center will host a community field day full of friends, food, and fun on Saturday, September 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Preston Miller Park. The whole community is welcome to attend this event, as it is FREE for all ages.

City hosts 3rd annual Reception for New American Citizens

Summary: The City of Bowling Green will host a reception to recognize individuals who have become naturalized United States Citizens from July 2016 through September 2017.

Basketball Court at Preston Miller Park

Summary: Bowling Green Parks and Recreation would like to announce that the lights at the basketball court at Preston Miller Park will not be available beginning Monday, August 7th until further notice, due to construction. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

City of BG to Hold Online Auction

Summary: The City of Bowling Green will hold an online auction at www.govdeals.com beginning August 7, 2017 and closing on August 14, 2017.

Creason Street and Emmett Avenue

Summary: Work has begun on the addition of turning lanes on both approaches near the intersection of Creason Street and Emmett Avenue. Construction will include the turn lane additions, new drainage piping, new pavement and pavement striping.

#BGGovToGo Block Party on Sandra Street

Smallhouse Road Closure

#BGGovToGo Block Party on Creekwood Avenue

GO BG Transit DBE Goal

Summary: Notice is hereby given, pursuant to 49 C.F.R. 26.45 that the City of Bowling Green and it’s transit provider, Community Action of Southern Kentucky, proposed an overall goal of 8% for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises participating in US DOT FTA assisted contracts for FY 2018 - FY2020.

Fountain Square Park Renovations

Basketball Court at Kereiakes Park

Summary: Bowling Green Parks and Recreation would like to announce that the basketball court at Spero Kereiakes Park will be closed beginning Monday, July 10th for resurfacing. The court will be closed for approximately 4 – 5 days, weather dependent. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Intersection Closure

Summary: The intersection of College Heights Blvd. and College Street will be closed for pavement reconstruction beginning Friday, June 30th at 8 a.m. through Monday, July 3rd.

Lehman Avenue Temporary Closure

Summary: Lehman Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Nutwood Street to Covington Street beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, June, 29 through 10:30 a.m. for drainage cleaning by the City of Bowling Green Public Works Department.

Expected Parking & Detour Impacts for The Great Race Downtown Today

Summary: The Great Race organizers and BG Area Convention & Visitors Bureau will begin staging for the Great Race at downtown Fountain Square today, Monday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m., with parking restrictions beginning at 2 and detours to follow thereafter.

Smallhouse Road Closure

Summary: Smallhouse Road will be closed to through traffic at McElroy Way on Monday, June 26th and Tuesday June 27th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for work related to a BGMU project.

Free Lacrosse Clinic

Summary: Join us Saturday, June 24 and/or Sunday, June 25 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Lovers Lane Soccer Complex for a free Lacrosse clinic. Learn Lacrosse from Coach Bret Keppler, Bowling Green High School Lacrosse Coach. The clinic introduces rules, positions and fundamentals of passing and catching.

Academy for New Americans to Graduate 26 Participants

3rd Annual Girl's Junior Championships

Summary: The championships will be held on June 22 at Paul Walker Golf Course. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. There will be a 9 Hole Division for 11-14 year olds and an 18 Hole Division for 13-18 year olds. This tournament is FREE.

54th Boys Junior Championships

Summary: The 54th Annual Boys Junior Golf Championships will be held on June 20 and June 21 at Paul Walker Golf Course. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. There will be a 9 Hole Division for 11 and 12 year olds and an 18 Hole Division for 13-18 year olds.

#BGGovToGo at Dishman McGinnis Tonight

Summary: #BGGovToGo will set up at Dishman McGinnis Elementary School at 375 Glen Lily Road tonight, June 13 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Residents can stop by for free popsicles, learn about City government, and chat with City officials.

We are Bowling Green Photo Contest Winners

Summary: The City of Bowling Green “We are Bowling Green” inaugural photo contest has come to a close. The Judges reviewed all photos submitted and the top three will receive a $100 (1st place), $75 (2nd place) and $25 (3rd place) gift card to B & H photo.

Bowling Green Receives EPA Grant

Summary: The City of Bowling Green recently received two brownfield assessment grants totaling $300,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA has selected four projects to receive a total of five grants in Kentucky for brownfield assessment or cleanup.

#BGGovToGo at West End Park For Outdoor Movie Event Friday, June 2

Summary: #BGGovToGo will be at West End Park at 517 West Main on Friday, June 2 for a Family Fun Night and outdoor showing of the movie "Moana" sponsored by Independence Bank. Fun and games start at 6:30 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk.

Neighborhood University Series Continues with Zoning 101
