City donates recovered Southern Queen Hotel’s historic Shake Rag items to WKU Special Collections Library

Summary: The City donated an extensive collection of historic Shake Rag artifacts from the Southern Queen Hotel to the Western Kentucky University Special Collections Library last week. Almost 800 items were recovered last summer during the process of stabilizing the property to save it for restoration.

Summary: Traffic impacts are expected for the annual Christmas Parade and Miracle on College Street Mile in downtown Bowling Green on Saturday morning, December 2. Staging areas will be restricted to parade traffic only as early as 6 a.m. and approaches to the parade route itself will close by 8:45 a.m.
