The City of Bowling Green was recently awarded the KLC Enterprise Cities Award for the Academy for New Americans Program. This innovative program provides New Americans the tools necessary to successfully navigate City services and community resources.

The City of Bowling Green was recently awarded the KLC Enterprise Cities Award for the Academy for New Americans Program.

This innovative program provides New Americans the tools necessary to successfully navigate City services and community resources.  The Academy for New Americans focuses on leadership development, city government services, public safety and the courts, citizenship and civic engagement, volunteerism and community engagement. 

The Enterprise Cities Award recognizes outstanding projects and programs in Kentucky cities. The awards celebrates cities and allows KLC member cities of all sizes to be inspired by, learn from and replicate successes happening in other Kentucky communities.

The City of Bowling Green will receive $1,000 to enhance the New Americans Program. The award was presented at the October 17th Board of Commissioners Meeting. Visit http://www.bgky.org/new-americans to learn more about the New Americans Program or to apply to be a part of the next class.
