Academy for New Americans Public Safety & Courts

The Academy for New Americans will have its third session on Thursday, April 26 from 9am - 3pm focusing on Public Safety & the Courts.

Participants will meet at the Bowling Green Fire Department Headquarters and will spend the morning taking an inside look at the Bowling Green Police and Fire Departments and their operations.  The second half of the day participants will head to the Warren County Justice Center where they will learn about the role of the Warren County Clerk, Warren County Attorney, Commonwealth Attorney and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The Academy for New Americans launched in February and it meets monthly for five session until June 2017.  It is a free leadership training program sponsored by the City of Bowling Green that empowers New Americans to understand and participate in City Government.  The purpose of the program is to provide New Americans the tools necessary to successfully navigate City services, community information and resources in order to become key stakeholders in assisting their respective ethnic communities and neighborhoods.
