The Academy for New Americans is a no cost, award winning leadership-training program sponsored by the City of Bowling Green that empowers New Americans to understand and participate in City Government.

The City of Bowling Green is now accepting applications for the 2024 Class of the Academy for New Americans.
 
The Academy for New Americans is a no cost, award-winning leadership-training program sponsored by the City of Bowling Green that empowers New Americans to understand and participate in City Government. Our 2024 Academy for New Americans will be our 6th annual class with over 125 participants having been part of previous year’s academies.  The purpose of the program is to provide New Americans the tools necessary to successfully navigate City services, community information and resources in order to become key stakeholders in assisting their respective ethnic communities and neighborhoods. The Academy for New Americans is led by the International Communities Liaison Division (ICL) in the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services.

The deadline to submit applications for the 2024 Academy for New Americans Class is Friday, January 12, 2024
 
You can submit applications in three ways:

  3. Paper Applications available at Neighborhood and Community Services at 707 East Main Avenue, lower level Section 8 Reception
Please look closely at the dates/times scheduled for this leadership training listed in the application.  The ideal participant must be available to attend all the training sessions to gain maximum benefit for this program.
